Shodan Training Plan

My Aikido Sensei Henry Lynch asked for a training plan as I approached Shodan:

Aikido

You asked for a plan
and here it is
A plan as cunning
as a weasel's is.

The goal is this
(for me, at least):
To change the subconsious.
But how to do this?

My memory's short,
and flexibility low,
My Japanese scant,
but this, you know.

Some basic techniques
remain tricky for me:
Especially the slow ones,
like kaiten nage.

And others of Shodan
need practice too;
Hanmi handachi,
to name but a few.

And then there's
the hara, the posture, the ki,
Not to mention the flip side
of good ukemi.

But ultimately, I'm
not worried by grade
I just ask you to teach me
the tricks of the trade.

So it's time on the mat,
with focus as due:
A long journey but
I'm enjoying the view!
